Vernon Joseph Ledet

Mr. Vernon Joseph Ledet, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Visitation will be at South Lafourche Church of the Resurrection (formerly United Methodist Church of Golden Meadow) on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am, with a burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Mr. Ledet is survived by his daughter, Adrienne Terrebonne (Cy); step-sons, Timmy Callais Sr (Melissa), Mike Callais Sr (Rachel); step-daughter in law, Joyce Callais; sister, Diane VanVoorhis (Bob); and grandchildren, Erica Callais, Timmy Callais Jr, Jada Bourg, Ashley Callais, Katie Callais, Jenna Callais, Mark Callais Jr, Catarina Lacoste, Michaela Callais, Michael Callais Jr, Halle Terrebonne, and Ryan Terrebonne; and his beloved dog, Lady.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Lee Ledet; parents, Columbus Ledet and Garnet Werhan; and step-son, Mark Callais Sr.

Mr. Ledet was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Cut Off, Louisiana. He enjoyed a long career as a tug boat captain and will be remembered for his sense of humor, his story telling, and his love for Mardi Gras.
