Theresa Rose Goldie Mcinnis

Theresa Rose Goldie McInnis, 97, a native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and resident of Grand Isle, passed away peacefully at her home on December 28, 2023, with husband by her side.

Theresa is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Alfred “Buster” McInnis; son Wilfred T. Van Norden, Jr. and wife Marilyn; and stepdaughter Dana McInnis Primeaux. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Toddie Van Norden Milstead, Terry Van Norden Lieberman, Wilfred Van Norden III, Todd Van Norden, and Trent, Mandiana, Kandi, and Dudley Primeaux; nine great-grandchildren: Daphne, Miranda, Morgan, Dylan, Jaci, Reed, Jacqueline, Ethan, Stella; and one great-great grandchild, Olivia.

Theresa was preceded in death by her son Michael “Sonny” Van Norden (Wanda); her parents Michael and Julia Goldie of Hungary; her brothers Joseph and Michael; her sisters Barbara, Anna, Julia, Elizabeth, and Mary.

Theresa was a strong woman who lived a long and eventful life. She worked as a registered nurse in Ohio when she was a young woman. Theresa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a homemaker, caregiver, and great cook who loved sharing her creations with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Theresa now rests in peace, while her spirit continues to live in our memories. A memorial for her will be held at Grace Church in Grand Isle on January 13, 2023.
