Schmelling "Mack" P. Verdin

Schmelling “Mack” P. Verdin, 86, a native of Lockport and resident of Larose passed away on December 7th, 2022 after a short battle with lung cancer.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Church of Christ at 13379 East Main Street, Larose on Monday, December 12th, 2022 from 10:00 am until service time. His funeral service will begin at 12 noon with procession following to his burial at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Raceland.

Mr. Mack is survived by his wife of 48 years: Diana “Dee” R. Verdin; children: Sue Ellen V. Matherne (Kenneth), Lynn LeBlanc (Jimmy), Ernie Foret, Jr. (Ali), and Wendy LeBlanc (Rocky); grandchildren: Leila, Ryan, Kayla, Lauren, Katlyn, Savannah, and Brittany; great grandchildren: Addie, Alex, Jaxton, Millie, and Cohen; brothers: Steve, Tim, Av; sisters: Stella, Martha, Mildred, Gloria, and Betty.

Mr. Verdin was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Marie M. Verdin; and brothers: Jimmy, Jerry, Tommy, and Luke.

Mack was a proud Army veteran, parish worker, shipyard worker, gas station and trailer park owner; who loved riding his tractor, yard work and gardening. He loved the Lord and adored his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
