Roy Anthony Blouin, 71, a lifelong resident of Raceland passed away at his home on Thursday, May 7, 2026 surrounded by his family and friends.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Martin Blouin; daughter, Michelle Blouin (Benjamin) Chiasson; grandchildren, Bethani Chiasson (Fiancé, Deon Sampey), Nathan Chiasson, and Elise Chiasson; sister, Ruth (Mark) Bourgeois; brothers, Ray (Mary) Blouin, and Randy (Cindy) Blouin; nephews, Buddy Blouin, Blake Bourgeois, and Jacob Blouin; and his great nephew, Jackson Blouin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Arthur and Martha Stinson Blouin; and grandparents, Roy and Athalie Blouin, and Raymond and Opal Stinson,
Roy spent many years trucking across the United States, logging more than 4.5 million miles behind the wheel of a big rig. For many years he balanced the time away from home transporting commodities across the country, while also providing a loving, stable, and safe home for his wife and daughter. His friendly, compassionate, and empathetic personality earned him many friendships along the many miles and places traveled throughout his life.
In his early years, Roy could be found water skiing on the local waters and was known for skiing barefoot. He had a passion for cars and found joy later in life by attending various car shows across the Gulf Coast, where he won many awards with his dream sports car. Throughout his life, he cherished spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping, and boating the waters of Louisiana.
Above all, Roy, especially treasured quiet moments in the woods in Mississippi with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and most importantly, his grandchildren; there is where he found some of his greatest joys in life. Roy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.
The family would like to thank Thibodaux Regional Home Health (Megan), ACG Hospice (Amy and Samone), Dr. Gaudet and Staff, and the nurses, doctors, and staff at Thibodaux Regional Cancer Center.
At Roy’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and/or Thibodaux Regional Cancer Institute in his memory. St. Jude's Children Hospital- Donate
