Morrison "Mo" Lathrop, Jr.

Morrison “Mo” Lathrop, 73, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

 Mo is survived by his daughter: Sarah Lathrop; sisters: Kathy Lathrop Lafont (Julian) and Alice Lathrop Adams (Matt); brother: Phillips Lathrop Sr. (Stacey); nieces: Leah Lafont Adams (Dustan), Lilah Lafont Hunter (Todd); nephews: Phillip Lathrop Jr, Kaleb Lathrop (Sirema), Jaedon Burregi; many great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and his cats and rooster.

 He is preceded in eternal rest by his father: Morrison “Lou” Lathrop and Patsy Cancienne Lathrop.

 The Lathrop family would like to thank Hope Hospice and Healthcare for a very compassionate care.

 He was an avid fisherman and loved to feed his grey heron in the Golden Meadow park and blueberries to his rooster. He loved his tarte a la bouillie and is eating it in Heaven with his family. 

 Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Christian Family Center in Galliano on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 from 9:00 am until service time. A Celebration of Mo’s Life will begin at 10:00 am with procession following to his burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
