God has picked another beautiful bloom for his garden on December 1, 2023, Lillie Blanchard Badeau, 90, a native and resident of Raceland, LA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday , December 9, 2023 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.
Lillie is survived by her children, Kirk Badeau, Melanie Badeau Disbrow, Craig (Candice) Badeau, Lillie (Vernon) Foret, and Arlen J. Badeau, Jr.; grandchildren, Bryan Kustenbacher, Jennifer Kustenbacher, Kimberly Kustenmacher, William “Billy” (Brittany) Disbrow, Jr., Megan Disbrow, Lindsay (Kai) Disbrow, Ashley (Brandon) Adams, Paige Dantin, Brooke Dantin, Natalie Dantin, Jude (Jennifer) Foret, and Drake (Alora) Foret; great-grandchildren, Easton, Addison, Tristan, Wynter, Allie, Kate, Luke, and Beckham.
Lillie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Arlen J. Badeau, Sr.; parents, Orland, Sr. “O.J.” and Lucille Blanchard; brothers, Orland Blanchard, Jr, Marvin (Elaine) Blanchard, and Edward (Neddie) Blanchard; sister, Hazel (Roy) Blanchard Gaudet; daughter-in-law, Lizabeth “Liz” Anne Badeau.
Lillie was employed by the United States Postal Service for 40+ years, She was asked to help work at Samart Funeral Home when they first opened for 6 months and retired 12 years later.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church as well as an active member of the Senior and Folk Choir, Eucharistic Minister and also a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was an active member of Al-Anon for 35+ years.
The last few years of her life were blessed with an earthly angel, Joanny Luther Francis and her family. Near the end of her days she loved having Joanny by her side because of the care and compassion she lovingly gave to her. Words will never be enough to express our gratitude for our “Angel on earth”.
