Joyce Champagne Hebert, 86, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by her daughter and caretaker Kayla and her grandchildren. She was a native of Raceland and a lifelong resident of Lockport, LA.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kayla Hebert Trosclair (Seth); grandchildren: Camden, Addison, Ainsley, and Avery Trosclair; brothers, Albert and Tilden Champagne, Jr., sisters; Gayle Theriot, Christine Brubaker and Gertie Chiasson; Godchild, Joanne “Josie” Danos (Sidney).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. Hebert; parents; Tilden P. and Olga Fremin Champagne; brothers, Patrick Stanley Champagne, Lewis Guy Champagne and Ray “Shomp” Champagne.

Joyce found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to cook and bake, filling her home with comforting meals and sweet treats that brought her family together. Her passion for food extended beyond her home, as she proudly ran her own catering business, sharing her talent and love for cooking with her community.

She had a gift for sewing and created many beautiful pieces over the years, including several bridesmaid dresses that were worn on some of life’s most special occasions. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every stitch.

Joyce had a lively spirit and a deep love for dancing and could often be found dancing to her favorite swamp pop music by Don Rich. She treasured time spent outdoors, especially camping where she made many lasting memories with her family.

She also held a special place in her heart for a dear family friend who was like a sister to her, Cynthia Trosclair. Their friendship was filled with love, loyalty, and countless shared moments that meant the world to her.

Above all, she deeply loved her family. She adored her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride. Time spent with them was among her most treasured moments and her love for them will remain a guiding light in their lives.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wolfort and his staff at Ochsner St. Anne Hospital and the staff at Heart of Hospice, specifically, Allen, Rusty, Sydney, and Cynthia for their compassion and care provided to Mrs. Joyce.
