James Harold Breakfield (May 12, 1947 – May 2, 2024)
James Harold Breakfield (76), a native of Columbia, MS and a resident of Lockport, LA
passed away on May 2, 2024.
No services will be held per James’ wishes.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hedy Day Breakfield; children James, Jr (Janet),
Valerie, and Mark Spencer (Traci); grandchildren Taner (Katie), Sara (Colby) and
Thomas; great-grandchildren Gunnar, Kennedy and the eagerly anticipated Lincoln
James; sisters Mattie Hicks (Nelson) and Linda Breakfield; brother Talmadge Breakfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Gussie Breakfield; brothers Jerry and
Kermis Breakfield.
He loved and raised his entire family from his lifetime of labor in the oil field and
carpentry work. James was most proud of being chosen to coordinate and oversee the
construction of the First Baptist Church in Lockport, LA where he was an ordained
Deacon.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
