Dorothy D. Cheramie, 92, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off passed away on June 13, 2018. A visitation will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joanne C. Picou (Franklin); son, Alan J. Cheramie; grandchildren, Gia, Danette, and Ron Picou (Brandy), Alan Jr. and LeeAnn Cheramie, great grandchildren, Phallon and Alanya; and brothers, Warren and Arthur Dufrene.
Mrs. Cheramie was preceded in death by her husband, Harris "Murphy" Cheramie; parents, Diet and Edna B. Dufrene, and brothers, Gilbert, Norah, Herman, and Loney Dufrene.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a retiree with 30 plus years with the Lafourche Parish School Board.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pitre, St. Joseph Hospice, nurse Chris Guidry, caregivers- Ella, Gail, Lois, Melissa, April, Jan, and Emilie for the wonderful care provided.
