Donald J. Folse, 89 a native and resident of Raceland, La. passed away suddenly on March 6, 2024 at Heritage Manor where he made numerous friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 12, 2024 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Donald is survived by his children; David (Valerie) Folse, Susan (Patrick) Falgout, Donna (Jan) Labat, Peggy (Paul) Blanchard, Melissa (Kenneth) Vial, daughter-in-law; Jill H. Folse, 13 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren, companion; Chris Harvell, sisters; Laverne F. Montegut and Bonnie F. Folse.
Donald was preceded in death by son; Wayne A. Folse, his parents; Anatole Paul “A. P.” Folse and Josephine Falgout Folse, former wife Ismay “Blackie” P. Folse.
Donald was a teacher for 20+ years he taught Agriculture-F.F.A., Biology and enjoyed judging cattle at L.S.U. He was an adjustor for Farm Bureau for 15 years, a cattleman, a farmer, and served 4 years on the Police Jury. He was known for and enjoyed making hog head cheese. He had wonderful memories of being a teacher and often reminisced of his teaching years. He was an amazing father who will never be forgotten.
