Words by his brother Dan: Gerard Campeaux was my brother. I don’t believe I ever referred to him by that name. He was always Jay to me. He was my baby brother. He was a simple man who loved his family. But, his granddaughters held a very special place in his heart. Jay was happiest watching a ball game or spending time with his granddaughters. He really loved combining the two. Jay was a man who was truly comfortable in his own skin. He knew who he was and he knew who he was not. For 62 years, I knew without question he was on my side regardless of the situation and that always gave me great comfort. You won’t find any bridges named after him. No buildings or roadways. He was just a very good man. He was my brother, and I loved him. I consider myself very lucky the have known him at all.
